Short-term storage for when your dates don’t line up
Closings slip. Leases don’t end the day the new one starts. The sellers ask for a two-week rent-back. I’ve been moving Baltimore Movers customers since 2018, and short-term storage solves all three of those problems without you having to rent a U-Haul box from a national chain.
The warehouse is at our East-Baltimore yard, climate-watched, alarmed, and camera-monitored. Marcus Hollins in dispatch holds your trailer in the lot for the first 72 hours at no extra charge, then we wheel it into the warehouse and bill by the day.
How short-term storage actually works
- Crew loads you out of your old place, pad-wrapped and inventoried
- Truck either parks in our yard (≤72 hours, free) or unloads into the warehouse
- Inventory is tagged by room so we can find your kitchen boxes in 30 seconds
- When the new place is ready, my crew loads the same truck and unloads at the new address
What it actually costs
| Duration | Crew rate | Typical storage cost |
|---|---|---|
| ≤72 hours (trailer in our yard) | Load + unload at $155/hr or $205/hr | Free |
| 1 week (studio / 1-bed) | Load + unload, flat-rate quoted | $155–$310 |
| 1 month (1–2 bedroom) | Load + unload, flat-rate quoted | $310–$725 |
| 1 month (3–4 bedroom) | Load + unload, flat-rate quoted | $725–$1,550 |
What I include in every storage job
- Pad-wrap, shrink-wrap, and a printed inventory before anything goes in
- Released value at $0.60/lb in the warehouse, full-value optional
- Up to $1,000,000 cargo coverage per shipment on the truck both ways
- Same crew chief on the load-in and the load-out whenever Marcus can stack it that way
Pair storage with a full residential move or a long-distance run down the I-95 corridor. If the closing on the new house is in Columbia or Annapolis, we’ll stage the trailer locally so the second leg of the move is short and cheap.
What is folded into your Baltimore, MD flat rate
- Pad-wrap, shrink-wrap, and inventory tag on every piece before it goes into storage
- Climate-watched, alarmed, and camera-monitored warehouse at our East-Baltimore yard
- Daily, weekly, or monthly billing — pay only for the days your stuff actually sits with us
- Same crew that loaded you out delivers you back in — no warehouse handoff to a sub
- Free 72-hour grace window when a closing slips a couple of days
- Climate-aware scheduling — we don't load straight into the truck on a 95° August afternoon
What will it run?
Two uniformed movers + the truck on the clock at $155/hr, or close the meter entirely with one countersigned Charm City flat number covering the full job in writing
Moving pads, four-wheel dollies, shrink film and the standard COI paperwork that Inner Harbor and Harbor East buildings demand are folded into either rate. A bump to three movers plus the rig sits at $205/hr.
