What these terms cover
These terms apply when you book a move with Baltimore Movers, whether the booking happens online, over the phone or in person at the office. Reading them in advance saves everyone time on moving day.
Estimates and the binding flat rate
Our written flat-rate quote is binding based on the inventory and access details you give us. If the actual job materially differs — significantly more inventory, an undisclosed third-floor walk-up, a long-carry the building blocked off without telling anyone — we will pause, show you the change, and only proceed after you approve the revised number in writing.
Deposits and cancellations
- A small refundable deposit holds your date on the truck board
- Cancel with the notice period stated on your contract and the deposit comes back in full
- Same-day or short-notice cancellations may forfeit part of the deposit to cover the lost truck slot
- If we reschedule a move ourselves — weather, equipment failure — your deposit moves with you, no fee
Liability and valuation
Standard released-value coverage at sixty cents per pound per article is included at no extra cost. Full-value protection is available as an upgrade and is the option we recommend for households with art, antiques, electronics or anything that costs real money to replace.
Payment
Final balance is due on completion by card, certified check or ACH. We do not require cash on moving day, and we do not hold your belongings hostage for a higher number than the one on your contract.
What we don’t move
For safety and DOT rules: hazardous materials, ammunition, propane tanks, live plants on interstate moves, perishables, and a handful of similar items. Theresa will go over the list with you during booking so nothing surprises the crew at the curb.
Disputes
Disputes are handled under Maryland law. If something goes wrong, call the office first — most issues that turn into formal complaints are issues we would have fixed the same day if anyone had picked up the phone.
